My partner and I were at Casino Rama for a Joan Jett concert (see my review) and maybe because of the loud music the plethora of mullets or the fact that we were famished and at a themed casino we decided to find an ‘all you can eat buffet’ restaurant. We came across the Weirs by accident and i spotted their sign of serving breakfast from Midnight to 3pm. Now i love breakfast foods so this was a good sign but we were still keen on finding a buffet and it was still a couple of hours before midnight so no breakfast food was being served.
Unfortunately or maybe fortunately by the time we did find the ‘all you can eat buffet’ it was after 10 pm and it was already closing down. To our charging most of the other restaurants were also closing down by that point or weren’t what we were looking for so we headed back to the Weirs as it’s open 24 hours a day. We figured that would be the best place to get a similar style of food as to what we were looking for at a buffet – something filling – a little bit diner or pub like – reasonably priced and that is exactly what we got.
The Onion soups we both ordered were delicious and the bread rolls were nice and warm perfect for a cold winter night.
I ordered their Signature Burger with chips (crisps) and my partner ordered British style Fish and Chips (fries) – my burger was very well dressed and it was a decent burger though i prefer my meat patty to be more flavourful and juicy – my partner really liked his fish though the dish came with only one small piece of Cod. The Chips and Crisps were both freshly cut and fried on site and this came through in the taste though yet again a little under salted.
We had a couple of Sodas plus a couple of Coffees and the bill came to be under $60 with taxes plus tip which was very reasonable considering we were at a casino resort.

All in all the food was good with a good value, the chefs know what they are doing; however, the food is cooked for the masses that frequent the casino or as a friend who works on a cruise ship once described this kind of flavouring as cooking for Old White people in Florida – less salt – less spice – no one is dissatisfied…
The Weirs is one of ten restaurants at Casino Rama and one of the few that actually is open 24 hours a day.

AWESOME TIP: We learned in our wonderings that the beef used for steaks in the expensive restaurants at the Casino site is the same beef they use in all the other restaurants.
